:: Who is Scheffler Actuarial? ::

Scheffler Actuarial is an independent actuarial firm that specialises inthe calculation of claims against estates.

We focus only on claims against estates and hence do not accept MVA claims or pension fund consulting work.

Our firm and its predecessor have more than 20 years of practical experience in the calculation of claims against estates.

The calculations are a practical science. Claims for minors are not regulated by law and are based on common law principles.

There is an Act that regulates claims for Surviving Spouses, but the Act is only two pages long and gives no guidance on how these claims are to be calculated. It merely specifies what must be taken into account.

Hence there is ample room for professional judgement in these calculations. Our signficant experience in this field of literally calculating hundreds of these claims makes us specialists in this field. We are in the ideal position to calculate and motivate a fair claim.

We do not only calculate the claim amount, we also check whether the documentation and information that are provided is reasonable. We then write a report that properly motivates the size of the claim that we recommend.
